At this point it seems we will definitely be in the upcoming Peacemaker spin off Waller. What makes Gunn’s statement interesting is the “sooner than you think” part. We know that Creature Commandos is a spin off of The Suicide Squad because it will feature Weasel and the casting is pretty much complete. It seems like Creatures is a safe bet. However, it could be fun to speculate.

The next film on the DC docket is Shazam Fury of the Gods. It seems pretty unlikely that Steve Agee would appear in the Shazam sequel, especially in a film that we know has cameos. A recent TV spot featured Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. The Flash? Also doubtful since this is another film full of cameos. And Keaton’s Batman. Blue Beetle? Maybe. The Beetle is a more street level heros so it makes more sense. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom? Also unlikely given that a lot of the action will take place in the ocean and outside the jurisdiction of the US government.

Wherever we see him, it will be nice to have him back. His comic timing as John Economos is second to none. James’ Gunn vision will generally include humor so he can be an ace in the hole. As the new DCU begins to come in to focus we will se just where and how he fits in, but i have a feeling we will be seeing more of Steve Agee and John Economos.

Ever since the actor’s arrest, his future as the cinematic Fastest Man Alive has been in doubt. Further, conflicting reports on the final verdict have fans confused.

For those who are unaware of the situation, Ezra Miller was recently arrested in late March for disorderly conduct and harassment at a bar in Hawaii. Details of the incident reveal Miller had allegedly disrupted a woman’s karaoke performance and lunged at a man playing darts.  A restraining order was also placed against Ezra after a couple claimed he made a death threat against them. This behavior follows an April 2020 incident prior to principal photography of The Flash. Miller reportedly had been witnessed grabbing a female fan by the throat in a bar in Iceland.

“The Flash” – Where Do Things Stand For The Film’s Release and Miller’s Future as Barry Allen?

A report from Rolling Stone suggested that the studio was “hitting pause” on future projects involving Miller and any future appearances of his Flash in other DC projects. This claim has also led to speculation of recasting Miller and reshooting the film. Further, it has started a movement to have Miller replaced with fan-favorite Grant Gustin from the hit CW TV series.

Prior to his arrest, Ezra made a cameo alongside Jason Mamoa’s Aquaman in the season finale of HBO’s Peacemaker. 

However, new reports claim that the report is an exaggeration and that the meeting never took place. Based upon that claim, it would seem that Miller’s future is still up in the air.

The Flash is a loose adaptation of the Geoff-Johns-Andy Kubert miniseries “Flashpoint,” where Barry Allen makes the choice to go back in time to prevent his mother’s murder and inadvertently changes the timeline. Directed by Andy Muchschietti, Miller reprised the title role of Barry Allen from his 2016 Justice League debut. Joining him is fellow JL alum Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, and the infamous Michael Keaton as the Tim Burton version of Batman post-time travel. There have even been rumors of reshoots featuring Henry Cavill returning as Superman prior to Barry altering the timeline.

Pending any confirmed change, the film is still scheduled to hit theaters on June 23, 2023.

The wrestler-turned-actor brings his character from The Suicide Squad to the small screen. While there’s still no official synopsis, the series is partially a prequel to the James Gunn film, as the origin of Peacemaker, aka Christopher Smith, will be revealed over the course of the series.

Peacemaker – What Is It, Who Is In It, and What to Expect

The series also features Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase, aka Vigilante. Like his comic book counterpart, Adrian is a District Attorney with regenerative capabilities. This is the second live-action appearance of Chase, as another character of the same name appeared on the fifth season of the CW’s Arrow. He was portrayed by Josh Segarra but was repurposed as the villainous Prometheus. His Vigilante persona also appeared in Arrow but had the civilian identity of Vincent Sobel, played by Clayton Chitty and Johann Urb with voice provided by Mick Wingert.

The trailer largely focuses on his work-for-hire status and showcases the buddy-cop relationship Smith has with the Vigilante and his avian sidekick, Eagle. Also starring Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Chukwudi Iwuji, and Robert Patrick, Peacemaker has a truly eclectic story brought to life by a stellar cast, but given it is loaded with coarse language, lewd humor, violence, and nudity, this series is not for kids.

Created in 1966 by Joe Gill and Pat Boyette, Smith is so passionate about peace that he’s willing to use as much force as possible to achieve it. Post-Crisis, the character has been in not only the Suicide Squad but was part of the Justice League International team as well. Smith made his return to comics in Geoff Johns’s Doomsday Clock and was a Suicide Squad member once more in Future State, and Infinite Frontier #0. The series, as a whole, strives to give dimension to Christopher’s journey, albeit in a more raunchy and violent manner.

Peacemaker stars John Cena as the titular character, Danielle Brooks as Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Harcourt, Steve Agee as Economos, Chukwudi Iwuji as Murn and Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith.

However, according to all of them, it’s Peacemaker’s pet bald eagle, Eagley, that steals the show, and from what I saw, they may be right. Check it out below:

The series was written entirely by Gunn himself, who said normally he would’ve taken a break between The Suicide Squad and his next project, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (and the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special), but he had nothing better to do with his time this past year. “Normally I would have been taking more of a break in this space but it’s COVID, I’m stuck at home, so I wrote a TV series,” he wrote in a September 2020 Tweet.

Although plot details on Peacemaker remain slim, the show is expected to explore the origins of Cena’s character, whom Gunn describes as a “douchey version of Captain America.” Peacemaker has a troubled past, and the show charts his journey as he grapples with trauma from that past, making rational and irrational decisions to “achieve peace at any cost.” 

Peacemaker is set to debut on HBO Max on January 13, 2022.

During this segment, they talked about some of the things to expect in the upcoming film, showed a couple of clips, including one that had never been seen before, showing the hilarity of King Shark.

James Gunn spoke about some of the more difficult scenes he had both Margot Robbie and John Cena perform, including one where Margot had to unlock herself from hanging handcuffs with her feet. Margot also shared a hilarious story about her relationship to John Cena prior to ever meeting him.

In The Suicide Squad, the government sends the most dangerous supervillains in the world — Bloodsport, Peacemaker, King Shark, Harley Quinn and others — to the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese. Armed with high-tech weapons, they trek through the dangerous jungle on a search-and-destroy mission, with only Col. Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave. However, things aren’t quite what they seem.
