The latest DC Comics-based video game, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League has finally come out and many fans have already played it. And that means that many people has witnessed the heartbreaking post-credit tribute to the legendary voice of Batman himself, Kevin Conroy.

If you’d like to watch the post-credit scene, you can check it out below.

Kevin Conroy was the iconic voice of the Dark Knight in several different projects over the last three decades, starting with arguably one of the greatest animated television shows of all time, Batman: The Animated Series. Conroy began his journey as Batman back in 1992 with the aforementioned animated series, and went on to voice both Bruce Wayne and his dark and brooding alter ego in dozens of other projects. Some of these include Superman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Justice League, Static Shock, and Justice League Unlimited. He then starred in several of DC’s DTV animated features such as Batman/Mister Freeze: Sub-Zero, Batman Beyond: Return of The Joker, Batman: Mystery of The BatwomanSuperman/Batman: Public EnemiesSuperman/Batman: Apocalypse, Justice League: Doom, Batman: Assault on Arkham, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox and Batman: The Killing Joke.

He also broke into the world of video games with Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham AsylumBatman: Arkham City, and Batman: Arkham Knight, as well as Injustice: Gods Among Us and Injustice 2.

Kevin Conroy tragically passed away on November 10, 2022.

Here is the official synopsis for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League:

Based on the DC Comics supervillain/anti-hero team the Suicide Squad, the game revolves around the titular team of super-criminals, who are assembled by Amanda Waller and sent to Metropolis to stop the alien invader Brainiac and save the members of the Justice League who have been brainwashed by him.

Other confirmed cast members include Conroy’s fellow BTAS alum Tara Strong once again as Harley Quinn, Debra Wilson as Amanda Waller, and Joe Seanoa as Nanaue/King Shark. Seanoa is best known to wrestling fans as Samoa Joe.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will not be stuffing anyone’s stocking this Christmas.

The Rocksteady-produced game had been originally anticipated by fans for its December 2022. The company is famous for its dip in the DC Universe with its phenomenal Batman: Arkham series, and now brings its talents to the dysfunctional Task Force X. After two groundbreaking trailers the year before and several months back, the game seemed to be set to go under everyone’s tree. And yet, news has reached the gaming community that the target date has been rescheduled to some time in 2023. The reason has not been confirmed, but the pandemic is one culprit. It has become common because of COVID-19 for both games and movies to be delayed. In the case of video games, anxious gamers can expect a product to be delayed and rescheduled at least once.

Suicide Squad – Who Are They and What Is The Game About?

For those new to the franchise, The Suicide Squad is a group of DC’s worst supervillains corralled by Amanda Waller with bombs in their heads and led on the field by Colonel Rick Flagg. The deal is simple: Complete missions that will go towards taking time off of their sentence and stay within established boundaries. If one of them tries to escape or disobey orders, Waller detonates the bomb in the disobedient team member.

The team was brought onto the world stage in 2016’s Suicide Squad with its breakout star Margot Robbie’s portrayal as Harley Quinn. Its standalone follow up The Suicide Squad by James Gunn saw Robbie’s return, and newcomer Peacemaker, played by John Cena. Cena is currently starring in HBO’s Peacemaker series, which is a prequel to the events of the film.

As the trailers have revealed, the game focuses on The Suicide Squad ordered by Amanda Waller to take down the Justice League after they have been possessed by the alien Brainiac. The roster includes Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, Harley Quinn, and King Shark. Its voice cast features Tara Strong, Debra Wilson, and Joe Seanoa aka former WWE Superstar Samoa Joe.

At last year’s DC FanDome, we got our very first look at the new, upcoming video game from Rocksteady, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, and it looked pretty awesome. However, a year passed by and we hadn’t seen anything else from the game. No second trailer. No gameplay footage. Nothing. So when this year’s event came around, we were all looking forward to seeing SOMETHING from this game, and boy, did they deliver.

While last year’s teaser trailer gave us a basic premise for what the game would be, this new one dove quite a bit deeper, giving us our biggest glimpse yet at the game’s story, characters and tone. Take a look:

In this latest trailer, we get to see some other members of the Justice League, Amanda Waller (voiced by and mocapped by Debra Wilson, who voiced Waller in Telltale’s Batman: The Enemy Within), Gizmo, a hint of Poison Ivy, and a hilarious scene with The Penguin at the end.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is actually set in the same continuity as Rocksteady’s Arkham game trilogy, which concluded with Batman himself seemingly perishing after a blast at Wayne Manor. We do, however, get a few shout outs to those games, such as the opening, which recreates the beginning of Arkham Asylum with the drive past the “hitchhikers may be escaping patients” sign, and also the scene of Amanda Waller recruiting the squad is set in the game’s first combat area.

Bringing in trailer stars Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark as playable characters, the footage shows off how the Squad’s mission to take out members of world’s finest superhero team isn’t just a whole other level of nefarious, even for a cast of villains. It turns out that during Braniac’s latest invasion, he’s managed to possess the Justice League and bend them to his will, leaving Earth’s first and last line of defense to Belle Reve’s finest.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set to release in 2022.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League revealed a brand new teaser trailer during DC Fandome. The game is the latest from Rocksteady games and is set for release in 2022.

We’re Going To Need A Bigger Gun

Rocksteady Games, the UK based studio based in London, showed off the latest trailer for their next DC game. The trailer featured of course Harley Quinn, as well as other notable Task Force X members. Take a look:

Notably, the game begins with Brainiac’s space ship embedded into the Metropolis skyline as the ground below falls into chaos. As of now, it appears that the core team of the game will be Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark. There was no announcement with regards to other playable characters.

We then see the Squad jumping into action as they take on an army of alien minions in a way only Task Force X can. All that action eventually leads up to a confrontation with what appears to be a mind-controlled(?) Superman who decimates a human.

Steady Production

According to Sefton Hill, the director of Suicide Squad: KTJL, fans have a lot to look forward to in this game. The most notable aspect of the game is that it will feature four player co-op. Now before we go any further, Hill did say you can play the game single player as well. So that should calm down a few of the more passionate fans out there.

The game is consider to be a continuation set in the Arkham universe and an opportunity to deep dive into the extended DC roster. Hill stated that when they were in preliminary talks for their next game, they were allowed to look at the entire DC universe for ideas.

Hill stated that Suicide Squad realm really spoke to the game creators for its potential for action and variety. The opportunity to play as all these characters rather than one was too good to pass up.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is expected in 2022
